Rotterdam is one of the main ports of Europe located in the Netherlands. The port is the gateway to the European market of more than 350 million consumers. The annual throughput is about 400 million tons.
With throughput of 10 million TEU of containers a year, ultramodern deep-sea and short-sea facilities and dozens of companies geared to the storage and repair of empty containers, Rotterdam is one of the major container ports in the Europe. The port has no restrictions in terms of depth and is accessible 24/7. With an average of about 9.7 million TEU passing through the port each year, Rotterdam by far outstrips all the other ports in Europe.
